The PTI wish to celebrate schools that share our values; we believe long-term commitment to embedding The PTI philosophy into educational practice creates real impact. We want to recognise the courage and initiative of schools who empower inspirational teaching and subject specific pedagogy.
"We at Plashet School feel honoured to be featured as a Spotlight School. Our affiliation and partnership with The PTI reflects our dedication to ensuring that all students, especially those from underserved communities, have access to a rigorous and enriching educational experience. By breaking down barriers and creating opportunities, we strive to empower every young person, regardless of their background or ability, to achieve their full potential.
The ethos of The PTI aligns closely with Plashet School by championing high-quality teaching that inspires and challenges students. Through our engagement through our Unlimited Membership, The PTI helps our teachers to deepen their subject knowledge, develop innovative teaching methods, and foster a culture of excellence. This focus on professional development equips teachers at Plashet to better address the needs of our students, by fostering high aspirations and providing engaging, meaningful learning experiences.
A professional network like The PTI is vital to our teachers because it offers opportunities for growth, collaboration, and support that extend beyond the boundaries of our individual school. By connecting with peers from diverse contexts, teachers can share best practices, learn about innovative approaches, and gain fresh perspectives on common challenges, enriching their own teaching practice.
Such networks also foster professional development by providing access to subject-specific training, workshops, and the latest educational research. This ensures that teachers stay at the forefront of their fields, delivering high-quality, engaging lessons to our students. The collaborative environment helps break the isolation many teachers feel, creating a supportive community where they can exchange ideas, address challenges, and find encouragement.
Beyond personal growth, networks like The PTI empower teachers to advance equity in education by equipping them with strategies to address disparities and improve outcomes for all students. They also nurture leadership skills, inspiring teachers to take on influential roles in their schools and beyond. Our active participation with the offerings at The PTI have seen three departments be awarded the Subject Leadership Mark in English, Music and Art. We have sent ten middle leaders to experience immersive professional development at the Subject Leadership Residentials. Colleagues undertaking personal accreditation through the Middle Leader’s Certificate alongside making contributions as Teacher Leaders in leading and developing CPD for colleagues in English, Science, Drama and sharing our expertise as The PTI launch the RE subject stream. A member of our Maths team was the recipient of the Martin Roberts Prize in recognition of their excellent engagement with the New Teacher Programme.
In essence, The PTI as a professional network connects teachers at Plashet to a larger purpose, fostering a shared dedication to transforming education and supporting them in delivering the best possible outcomes for their students."
