To generate enough electricity just from solar energy the UK would need a solar farm the size of Derbyshire.
Considering this, encourage your pupils to evaluate solar energy as a solution to the global energy crisis.
Kathy Langridge, Head of Chemistry at Altrincham Grammar School for Girls, was inspired to suggest this teaching idea after hearing Dr Paul Coxon's (University of Cambridge) lecture on 'Black Holes and Penguins' at our Thermodynamics and Electrochemistry CPD day.
